Two things to know. The server is created in your own name, so its monthly hosting fee is billed to you. And like any machine on the internet, a server needs ongoing maintenance to stay safe (updates, patches, monitoring) which isn't included here. Our Caretaker plan will cover that when it launches.
Want it kept updated & secured for you afterwards? Caretaker upkeep is coming soon. .
We handle the technical part end-to-end. You get a working app and a simple login, and that's the whole experience on your side.
Tell us what you want to stop paying for. Photos, files, streaming, passwords; if there's a solid open-source version, we'll deploy it.
Run it on a mini-PC, an old laptop, or a server you already have. No hardware? We can spec one or set you up on a private cloud box for an extra fee.
Installed with your credentials. It's yours, we never hold your data.
There's no fixed catalogue. Name the tool you have in mind; if it's an active project with real docs, the answer is almost always yes. If it isn't a good fit, we'll tell you straight before you pay a cent.
Start your request →Tell us where to reach you. We'll review what you want and reply with exactly what we need from you to deploy it. No charge until we've both agreed.
We'll reply to the email above, usually within ~1 business day. No payment is taken now.
The software is genuinely free and open-source, with no license fees. You're paying us once for the labour of installing it correctly. One honest caveat we can't control: open-source projects are run by other people. A project can change direction and go proprietary (it happens; cal.com is one example), or simply stop getting updates. That's not on us. We deploy what exists at the time and hand it over. If you've arranged for us to maintain it, we can only maintain what the project actually ships, because we don't develop these tools ourselves.
Often, but not always. Some projects are “open-core”: the free version covers the basics, while certain features (or higher limits, or a polished UI) are reserved for a paid or “enterprise” tier. Others are simply lighter than the commercial product they resemble. We deploy the free, open-source edition as the project ships it; we can't unlock paywalled features or add missing ones. If a specific feature is the reason you're switching, ask us before you pay and we'll check whether the open version actually has it.
No upfront payment to ask. You list what you want above and send a request; that's free and takes a minute. We review it, confirm we can do it, and reply with exactly what we'd need from you. Only once we're both happy do you pay (a one-time $250 per app) and we get started. No charge for a quote, no surprises.
Not much, and you won't have to figure it out alone. After you send a request, we reply with a short, plain-English list: a box to run it on, access so we can install, and the logins the app should use (the admin account you want, a domain if you have one). You hand those over and we deploy, all set up with your credentials, so it's yours from day one.
No. We deploy each app exactly as the open-source project ships it, configured with your credentials and with the basic required setup (like email/SMTP) done. We don't build custom features or modify the code, which is what keeps the price flat and the result solid and update-able. You get the real, standard app, set up right.
Once we've agreed and you've paid, you have 14 days to send the access we listed. If it doesn't arrive in that window, we keep a 25% fee to cover the time we reserved and release the slot. Not sure you can get something? Tell us before you pay and we'll sort it out first, so this never comes up.
A deployment is a one-time setup. By default, ongoing maintenance, updates, and security are not included; we're not responsible for upkeep unless you've agreed it with us in advance. Our Caretaker plan (automatic updates, monitored backups, a help line) is coming soon and will cover exactly that; ask to be added to the list. For one-offs, we can also help on request.
Less than you'd think. Tell us what you want to run and we'll tell you exactly what it needs, and if you'd rather we set you up in the cloud, we'll handle that too (for an extra fee, since the server is provisioned and billed in your name).
Only you. The whole point of self-hosting is that your photos, files, and passwords live on your hardware, not someone else's cloud. We set things up and hand you the keys; we don't keep copies, and we don't need ongoing access unless you ask us to help.
Especially for you. The entire service exists so you never have to open a terminal or read a setup guide. You pick what you want, we make it real, and you end up with a normal login screen like any other app. If you can use a website, you can use what we deploy.
Pick an app and let us do the scary part.
